LKA 2-26 Stripers

Jim Hemby invited me to go scouting for bait and fish.  Met at the marina at 7am and headed out looking for bait.  All of the upper lake is muddy from the last 2-3 weeks of rain and snow.  We found plenty of gizzard shad, but 99% were way too big.  We ended up with 15 in the 6" range after 2.5 hrs.  Headed down lake and it was a fish desert.  No bait and no fish to be found.  We eventually found 5 or 6 stripers together and put lines down on them.  Three fish in 3 hours.....one short, one 23", and one 28".  Off the water at 2:30pm.

BTW, on the western shore of the bay, at a location not to be named, the fish are thick and willing to bite in certain trenches. I was invited to go this week, twice, but could not go due to doc appointment and family commitments.
