Brambleton 2/28/16

Slow day to start, but fish moved super shallow by the end of the day and were smoking reaction baits all evening. Probably finished with 30 to 35 bass in the 12-15" range. Nothing huge, but I'm definitely not complaining for February.

Warm weather and biting fish, that's how to enjoy a February day!

Picked off this giant today... Didn't get an official weight, but it was no doubt over 7 and about to explode.

Very nice fish.  You definitely need to put a tape measure in your fishing pack, or at least one that clips on to your belt (carpenter type).  I'll post this one at 7 lbs on the Best 2016 bass thread big_smile .

She inhaled a red rattle trap in a couple of FOW.  I pegged a 4+ pounder yesterday too, but it looks pretty tiny in comparison.

Nice fish!  Visited the same place today and caught 2 keepers in 30 minutes.

Were you there around three o'clock with another person?  I was on the other side of the lake.  I got five and my buddy picked off one in about an hour.

Re: Brambleton 2/28/16

I showed up a little after 4pm, and I was asking those two guys if they were Kevin!  I didn't see you guys on the other side, so I assume you had left.  Unless you don't like to give away your identity smile.  I was on the side with the long straightaway without houses.  First time for me out there, so I would love to meet up with you sometime to see what I could learn about the place.  It looks might shallow....but my two fish were healthy.  I live nearby, so I am going to find a way to sneak by later this week with the temperatures moving up.
