George and I were supposed to float the South Fork of the 'doah today with CT Campbell but low water conditions took us out of that game. Plus, it was gonna be hot! But CT had a plan, should we were to accept the challenge. We did. We agreed to get off the water before the heat bore down on us.

We drove down a dirt road to another more sketchy dirt road and finally to this entrance.



Which led to the river.

It was shallow so George got out and set us up on course!



Since CT had mentioned that there had been a couple of musky sightings, I brought along my Loomis GL3 MH stick tied with a 6th Sense Scramble (I think this one is discontinued or a prototype).



It caused 5 blowups and two catches!





But no musky!

Can't remember what George caught this one on...



I did get a slam at one point that caused us to think it was a musky. But...it was not to be.



We caught about a dozen but the bite was slow except for the thousand BG bites. They were pestering our baits all morning.

And a LMB came to play at the mouth of a creek.



As always, the scenery is top notch!







On the way back, I wanted to cool off so I pushed the boat to the ramp (if that's what you want to call it).



We did not bring a lunch as our plan was stop somewhere in Front Royal to get lunch. But before we left, CT mentioned the Apple House and that's where we went!

George and I had their steak and cheese (loaded) and potato salad.



And I got some goodies to take home.



We made something out of potentially nothing today and had a great time with CT.
