Hit the river yesterday for a little solo outing to do another day of burning time and fishing. The river. Weather was absolutely gorgeous with a high of like 78, although it could have done with more clouds rather than the bright cloudless skies, but can't control the weather. You fish when you can fish and yesterday I could fish

Water was actually a little dirtier than I thought because of the recent storms last week but not too bad. Better than gin clear water. Started off with tossing the fluke, clear choppo, chartreuse and white spinner bait with a Indiana blade, and plastic craw.  Landed one pretty quick at one about 10 in on the Chapo..  thought it was going to be a good topwater day maybe but that did not turn out to be the case. That was the one and only one landed on top water and I absolutely had no hits on the fluke

Just kept working my way upstream and moving from Eddy area to push water. It's a really long stretch of relatively shallow water. A lot of rock above the water. Got up to an area where it was a little faster and kind of a semi-eddy area and got two swipes at the spinner Bay and finally caught one about 13 in. Earlier. Had put on a bigger swimbait trailer in a dark black for profile size. Work that area a little longer with nothing else. I got another swipe and Miss on the spinner bait so I took that swimbait trailer off and put a smaller chartreuse and white went on instead. Literally next cast landed. What about 13 in.

Work my way at pretty good distance. Upstream and then do the next big pool when I turned around. Caught two more on that. Same swim bait and spinnerbait combo and that was it

Landed a total of five, nothing bigger than 14 in with those three three short strikes on a spinner bait. I fished from 10:00 to 4:00 which wasn't the ideal time in summer but it's what I could do

My wife's out of town until Sunday afternoon evening, so here's a good chance I'll be out Saturday and Sunday 😁😁
