The best and fun way to kill spotted lantern flies and japanese beetle

I got tired of seeing these little black bugs on the trees and japanese beetles on the bushes.  I tried stepping on these stage 1-3 lantern flies to only have them jump faster than a grasshopper!

The beetle bags only work so well.

So, I decided to make a game out of the whole thing and I've been having a blast since getting my salt shooter.  I may not get instant kills on the lantern flies right away (on every shot), but they all end up dying after being hit was salt (the same with the beetles).  If I'm able to get close enough all bugs get smashed and I've recorded a way higher percent kill ratio.

Looks like fun but I'd prefer lead to salt

I hike the local trails allot.  Birds love the lantern flies.  Easy to spot with their Target red dot showing when flying.  At night, the bats get them too.  I'm attributing the rise in the bat population to the presence of the lantern flies.

Now I'm hearing and seeing the cicada's.

Luv nature!

I used the lantern fly stick tape when they were first emerging and killed thousands and thousands of them.

This is the first year I've ever seen them here, but I'm 100% going to use that tape for next year!!!

LOL I have two of those salt guns, they're a hit with the nieces and nephews. Even got the high-powered CO2 version. Have slain many a lantern fly with them.
