It was Paul Naj's turn today (we've been trying to get out with Chris since we had to cancel last year).
It's a beautiful morning when you have no layers on and no socks!!
The morning top water bite was not on despite Paul trying for a while. Fish were caught in the usual places and we even had a shade bite as well. Summer patterns are starting!!
Today, we went 15 for 20 but Paul had the hot hand; he caught the smallest, biggest and the most (by far)! I think all of his came on a nose hooked 4" white fluke. My fish came mostly from a fluke and 1 or 2 on the flat worm.

This next one was fat!

All the fish were healthy and feisty.
About 1/2 way of the float, we stopped for a nature break and to cool off a little.

I've been wondering how these got here...
Some random thoughts...
The water is really low, very little flow.
Being buoyant (and fishing) is about as good as it gets.
Chris kept making sure we were all OK with the heat. I was basking a few times, just soaking it in.
A couple of times, Paul lost his bait and Chris went in the water to retrieve them. He kept saying he wanted a swim.
We saw only one kayak fishing while we were out.
As we shuttled cars, there was construction work going on and the Stop/Slow signs were being deployed by a couple of fellas. We got the Slow sign so we went. Next thing I know, there is an 18 wheeler barreling down at me. It seems that the fellas got confused and to Who was on 1st but we all managed to get through safely.
Lastly, while on the water, we actually talked about making sure we took pictures of our food before we bit in to it. Well...we were hungry so we inhaled the wraps. They were amazing. Paul and Chris had the Falafel wrap and I had a Gyro wrap. Everything we eat at that place is outstanding. But...no pics, sorry. ![]()

I blame the heat on the lack of food pics.
Fun day for sure, thanks Ernie and Chris for getting me out of work for a day.
Pics or it didn’t happen on the smallest fish. ![]()

Truth be told! When Paul caught it (1st fish) he had the fish unhooked and back in the water before we could even think about taking a pic!
Fun times!

Great report and some real quality fish. It got warm for sure. Very interesting about the topwater bite. It always seems to pick up in June though.

Appreciate that you guys had a heck of a day. The fish are just so beautiful and healthy. I hope they stay that way for a long time. No worries on the meal pics. It's about what you enjoyed and living the day as it comes. I never had a sign person screw up traffic so that had to be crazy to see a semi head on!
