I think it's amazing that the river has recovered so well from when I first moved here in 99.  I recall stories of barrels of stuff floating down from the headwaters.
I didn't know what to make of it with how people (I say people because industry is run by people) would purposely contaminate the very ground and water we walk on, it never made sense to me and never will.

I've always been perplexed as to why people throw tires into the UP. There are lots of them. Surely they just didn't get there in a high water event.
