River is way low, so I fished from shore for a couple hours this morning. Beautiful morning with an owl hooting right near me.
Fishing was a little slow. I started with a wacky rigged senko. I thought I had one take that I missed and then saw the hook was messed up by fish that grabbed it. I straightened the worm out and a couple casts later had a bite and fish on! It was a chunk about 15 inches that got off as I was unhooking it, so no picture. I tried a tiny swimbait and a Hula stick in a 1/32 ounce rig with no more bites.
I moved and tried another spot where I could cover water. I walked a ways upriver after picking up some trash. I started tossing the wacky rig with a Yum Dinger (fish stole the senko). After a few casts, I had a strong hit and set the hook. It was a strong fish that I guided along the shore to where I could land it.
I was happy with that one. Tried some more and hooked something super strong. I was battling it with 6 pound test. When I got it closer to shore, I figured it must be a catfish. I was right, but I had it snagged. No wonder it was so hard to fight.
Fished a little more but ended up breaking off the wacky rig. No more fish. I left about 9am. Nice morning out.

So many times I thought I was battling a beast only to find out I had snagged a mediocre fish in the back or tail. Nice report.

Great report with some really cool scenic pictures. Good on ya to keep it up and get action. Snag or not....it's still cool to reel in a fish. I'm usually snagging the dreaded stick fish!
