Took my brother n law out since he wanted to go fishing during his week off.  He borrowed a kayak from his son (George's old kayak) and I set him up with a new rod, new net, tackle and let him use one of my rods since he likes to have 2 poles.

The launch was easy peasy and the waters looked beautiful at 4 pm.  The tide was ripping in and it's so beautiful there we just enjoyed taking our time getting to each spot.

No real BIG SPLASHES until my bro n law fell in.  I think he just got off balance for a split second and over he went.  Lost the new net, my pole, and his phone was drowned.  The phone was an old one and he's been wanting to get a new one so this was a great excuse.  The net is no big deal.  His pole that I got him he had in his hand still.  My pole (poison adrena with vanquish 2500 reel) was sunk. lol  I honestly didn't have the heart to tell him how much that setup cost, but he had a clue.  From my perspective, I learned my lesson a few years ago from flipping over and losing my phone and a bunch of gear and recommended he leave anything valuable in the car or in my kayak tray for safe keeping.  No big deal....it happens.

On my replacement rod.....I was beng honest when I said it's an excuse for me.  I think I'd like to replace my shimano vanquish (I had two twin rods with the exact same setup) and now only have one.  So, I think I'll puchase a twin for my baitcaster instead of the spinning!  Having the exact same setup for different lures has really helped me with my casting accuracy!
