7/21/25 River

Got out solo after the little rain shower this morning.  Water is around 4 feet at Point of Rocks and it is still pretty stained in most of the river.  Nice sunrise.

I tried for a topwater bite with a 77 size Shower Blows and then my little buzz bait.  After a few casts with the buzzer, I got absolutely blasted.  It was such a cool bite that made a loud pop.  After a good fight I landed this smallie.

I was pumped.  I got no more on topwater but caught one on a little jig with a ned on it.

Then I started throwing a spinnerbait.  A couple casts in, and it got hammered.

I moved on and floated part of an island.  I just got one bite after anchoring in one spot.

Then I moved again.  No bites at the next spot, but I was being watched by 2 bald eagles in a tree.

I moved around and drifted a bit in the middle.  The Big TRD got hit and a strong fight ended with this guy in the net.

After that, I moved around a lot.  I finally got one on the jig with ned.

Once the sun came up, the bite died.  I was in a muddier area and just took my time floating back toward the ramp.  I saw 3 different beavers in the river.  Non of them slapped their tails, which seemed strange to me.  One was bobbing it's head up and down in the middle of the river.  I thought it was a log a first.  Off the water before 12.

No way.  Big river and I got just a little boat, LOL.  I think a lot of the fish feed more at night when it gets hot.  Muddy water doesn't help either.
