River Gods smiled on us

Did a little searching and calling around for a safe stretch to float the past couple days and the old axiom with enough gas, you can catch fish turned out true again

Got up at o'dark thirty and met Leon at the take out.  We loaded my gear into his car and off to the put in.  It was chilly outside, upper 40s but knew that wouldn't last long.  We splashed the kayaks and off we were

Nature was alive.  You could hear the chatter from the birds and a wood pecker was already looking for breakfast.  Osprey and bald eagles were patrolling for their breakfast.  We ran into some angry blue birds diving bombing us.  Probably a nest of young's around?

Water was chilly with a light tea colored stain.  You could almost see the green showing through.  All the grass from before the flooding is gone.  Growing back now but pretty much gone.

Fishing for both of us started instantly.  3 fish for each of us right off the bat.  Fish were aggressive the rest of the float.  Couple heartbreaks for each of us, but that's why it's called fishing and not catching.   We even caught hand sized red crested panfish and bluegill.  In fact, for those in the know, the greenie holes are now panfish holes.

All in all, you couldn't ask for a nicer and productive day

Red Brested panfish lol

Do tell!

I've known Bruce to have you change shirts when he takes fish pix because the color of your shirt didn't blend in with the environment

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the why!

I've seen epic reports yesterday from the Susky and New.
