Got out early for a half day trip with Jimmy. Water level was 7 feet at Point of Rocks.
Fishing was tough and no bites at the first couple stops. Had a cool red sunrise due to upper-level smoke, I guess. My picture and then Jimmy's.

Water was brown and flowing fast, but not super muddy. I rigged baits that I thought might work in those conditions (jigs, spinnerbaits. wobble head jigs). Bite was eluding us.
Jimmy caught he first fish at 7:43am with a Z Man Goat on a wobble head.

He caught the next one a little while later on the same lure.

Then he hooked a little one. We drifted to our next spot, and I caught one on a spinnerbait.

I decided to put on a tube and gave the rod to Jimmy while I was retying another rod. That became the hot lure. He lost a couple and caught all the rest of his fish on the one tube.
While floating, I hooked my second fish on the spinnerbait. I was adjusting the boat and stopped reeling. When I started again, the fish was on.

We moved downstream and Jimmy caught this one on a tube while i knocked the measuring board into the water while trying to net his fish. Jimmy netted the board while I chased it down. He had the fish in his hand. Good thing I had added the foam, so it floated.
Jimmy had me 6 to 2 and I hooked this little guy on a smaller jig.
We called it a little after 12 because Jimmy needed to pick up his daughter at the airport. We had to work for the fish we caught. There were snags and break offs due to snags.
We saw 3 sets (or same 2 circling?) of the Blackhawk helicopters. We also saw a cool looking bird that was some sort of Fisher I think. There was a snake and possible otter siting also. Coming in, we noticed that the VA side was greener than the MD side we were fishing. Oh well. Always fun to be out on the water.
