River 3/11/25

Got out with my Brother-in-law Jimmy again.  I actually drove this time. It was CCold in the morning when launching just after 7am.  No bites at first spot.  Tried floating an island, but water just too shallow to spend much time there.  We decided to make a move.

Second spot started slow, but I finally got one on a jig I had tied recently from some old jigs I bought from a former RS member Craig Defronzo.  They were nice jig heads, but the living rubber was trashed from the rubber bands holding the material on.  I used 2 kinds of living rubber, some deer bucktail and some silicone.

I am missing some pics because I forgot my phone.  My second fish was a nice 19 incher on the same jig.

Jimmy caught a 15 incher on a TRD.

Then I caught another 16 incher on a TRD Bugz.

After lunch we decide to explore. We were working a shoreline I said I had never caught a good fish on when I got a good hit on my jig.   I then saw the fish in the clear water, and it looked big.  After a nice fight Jimmy netted this 20 incher.

Jimmy got one more smaller fish on the TRD before we headed back.

We had 6 fish landed and several missed bites.  We had a beaver visit us as well as a hawk, kingfishers, 2 huge swans and lots of ducks and seagulls.

Off the water around 3pm.  Nice day on the water.

I can't decipher WWDS

Water level was 3 foot and dropping.  Water Temp was 44-49.  Hit 50 degrees after we got off the water.

Doc says ok.  Jimmy is my insurance if I don't feel up to it but all good.  Mid to shallow depth.  Near deeper water.
