Had to get out one more time before hand surgery tomorrow. Conditions were good for a morning shore trip. Brought 3 rods with my little popper, a jerkbait and one with a TRD Bugz. Started at one spot and got a swirl on the popper and then one maybe 11 inches a little while later. Here are pix of sunrise and my fishin' buddy.

I also had a Kingfisher catch a fish nearby and saw an Eagle, flock of geese and flock of ducks migrating. No more bites, so decided to head upstream to find some deeper water.
I got to spot 2 and after a couple casts with the popper, switched to the bug. After a few casts, I decided to walk upstream a little to find better water. I got to an area with some rocks and there was a tree beached on the shore. I made a cast, and I saw the line swimming and set the hook. It felt like a good fish. After a nice fight with a couple drag pulls, I got it to shore.

That was a blast, and I decided to grab my stuff and keep moving upstream to find spots. Next one was a little guy that slammed the bug.
I saw some cool little flowers near the shore.
I kept walking upstream looking for deeper water. The water was low and I ended going up to a rocky little point. After a few casts. I got a nice hit and was able to land this chunk.

Then I had some action at that spot.
Another smaller one after that and then this little guy.
Things dried up at that spot and I started heading back. I picked up a feisty 12 incher that did not want to have his picture taken and then I heard helicopters. 3 Ospreys (plane/helo) were coming upriver right in front of me. I struggled to get a picture with a rod in my hand and standing in shallow water. Got this as they were almost gone.
I fished for a bit more and caught one more 10 incher just before 10:30am. Made a few more casts but left soon after. 9 smallies total and a nice morning by the river.

Good work. Looks like you got some hiking/wading time in as well.
You and Curly are the only people I know that carry the big Hawg Through while shore fishing! ![]()

I don't know what to say...well, good luck with the recovery!

I plan to do more walking as exercise since I cannot do much upper body stuff. Meds are mitigating back pain, so hope that continues. Onward and upward!!

Walking is the best activity for the health of the back...so say my chiropractor and my ortho doc.
