When RS was active, some guy down in Arkansas made jigs with barbarians. He used a 7 strand wire, nylon coated leader material as a rock guard.
I still make them for a few of the ol' RS'rs. They are a pain to pour with that wire weed guard because the wire don't lay flat in the mold. Some people still swear by them.
