I got out early to try for my last smallies for a week or so. Cold, but beautiful out. Water was very clear, and the grass is less of an issue. Almost full moon.
A little fog with sunrise and moon over the river.

Fish were finicky. None on the popper, big TRD or flatworm. Saw a few wake in chasing bait and then going right back out. At one point I was floating the popper downstream close to me and a good fish came in from downstream and was blasting something right in front of me. I tried to reel the popper in to where the fish was, and it swirled right behind a rock where the popper was and missed it. I honestly do not know if it was going for the popper or a fish it corralled in the 6-8-inch-deep water. That was the closest I got to catching anything. Called it by 8am.
It was really nice with the clear water and turning trees. A Kingfisher came in and scolded me and I always see at least one Bald Eagle.
