River 10/15/2024

Got on the water at 7am and it was chilly, but beautiful.  No one else at the ramp and the water looked nice.

I wasted some time trying topwater.  Then I ran upriver some.  Got bit and then first smallie was a little over 13.5".

No more bites there, so ran up farther.  This was a better spot and the water was nice.

I broke off a tube on either a bite or a rock.  A little while later I got a nice bite on a flatworm and it was a strong fish.  After a nice fight I was able to net it.  It was a fat 17.5" smallie.

Then I caught a 14"er on the big TRD.

Then I heard helicopters and turned around to see 2 military choppers flying no more than 50 feet over the river right next to me (maybe 100 feet).  It was really cool.  I did not dare to try to take a picture until they were past me.  I got one when they were a little ways off.

After that the wind picked up.  It was blowing straight downriver and made fishing really hard.  I tried a spinnerbait, chatterbait, in-line spinner, crankbait and several light dragging lures.  I caught one more on the flatworm and then boarded the struggle bus.

I anchored and ate my sandwich and the wind was chilly.  I just mostly floated after that.  There was a dead duck floating that some hunter neglected to retrieve.

I might have gotten 2 more bites but no more fish.  I got off the water before 2pm with 4 fish landed.  I could have had more if I did not waste the time early trying topwater.  Water was really nice though.

holy fat fish!  That first one gulped that worm in for sure.  Some really nice smallies.  That big one.....wow.  must have been an awesome fight.  Did the helo's have green bottoms?  I see a lot of the low flying (nap of the earth with helos).  Just don't be in one if you're prone to motion sickness.  That's going to suck with imgur changing this.

Good fishin'!

In Imgur, go find the Green rectangle that says New Post. Click it.

Then (right side of box) click Choose Photo.

Get your photos.

Then go to Get Share Links

Then choose BBC Code link to copy and paste on to the report.

This tutorial is free, the next one will cost you! lol

I have done that forever.  This time, it was different and no BBC links.  Only facebook, twitter and Pinterest.  Check it out.

I did or I would not have posted  the above.

There is a green "New Post" button that shows up. Sometimes at the middle and sometimes at the top left. I will assume that you signed in to the site.

Re: River 10/15/2024

Sometimes I've found that IMGUR is squirrely.  So is WAZE.

Happens rarely, but when it does, I shut down the sight and go back and hour or two later.  I believe the companies are doing some sort of software update and it messes up their systems to the end user.  Sux for the user when you really need it - esp WAZE.  But there's alway an alternative - Mapquest, Google Maps or the old fashion paper maps.

It works now, so I fixed it.  I think I left the browser open too long yesterday.   Never saw it look like that before.

As for WAZE, there are some roads I just do not want to drive on if possible.  The 270 spur to the Georgetown Pike bridge construction on a Holiday Friday afternoon is one of them.
