I decided to test my luck with getting out on a super skinny river on Friday the 13th in the fog. What could go wrong? Luckily not much did. Shared the launch in total fog with a few kayakers going out for fun. On the water before 6:30am. I was able to run at idle to the deeper water, then run to my morning spot. Idea was to get a big one on topwater. Everything was nice, but no bites on the chug bug or little popper. Finally got the skunk off with the wacky rig.
The sun came out and I floated a little . Picked up 6 little ones total there, then decided to see if I could run upriver some. Needed current and it was clouding up, so thought it might be worth it. That turned out to be a good move. I was catching them on different z-man plastics and the popper. It was a blast, getting multiple fish back to back. Here are some pics. Mostly dinks, but a few better ones and loads of fun.

I caught 26 total with 7 on the popper, including the biggest one and lost a bigger one about 18" or so that came off as a jet boat was blasting by me. Guy was on the phone screaming and cursing before he fired up and did that.
The coolest thing was I caught 3 and hooked 5 casting the popper right over or behind mid-river rocks and just popping it once. Also saw an Egret chase a Bald Eagle, which was a first. Off the water about 2pm.
