I got out for a half day hoping the water cleared up a bit after getting skunked Monday. Launched after a little struggle with the rope getting tangled on the trailer.
I tried for some topwater, but the water was still a little murky and floating grass . Got the skunk out with a little fetter on a z-man lure.
Decided to run up after the crew team launched. Tried a Storm subwart and got bit on second cast. Just a little guy, so no pic. Then a few casts later, got a better fish on it.
A guy ran his boat between me and the shore and I got no more bites there. I went to grab a water and realized I left my cooler in the back seat. After that detour I ran further up. The water was no clearer up there. I got the stare down by 2 Ospreys.
After a while I decided to float. Fishing was tough with no bites for a while. I switched to a different subwart with a chartreuse belly and got 2 more little guys.
Had another dry spell and then two more little ones on the subwart Called it at about 12pm. Seven total, with 6 on the cranks. Tried a couple other lures, but no takers. Happy to get out after not much fishing the last month or so.

Good to see you caught a few. By the looks of one pic, is the water still latte?

Brown to greenish latte with floating grass. I think I saw 2 snakehead. One surfaced and I did not get a good look. Another was cruising upriver, making a wake. It was long and black looking and cruising upriver just under the surface. I was floating downstream and used the TM to try to cast at it (thought it was a stick or rock until I got closer and saw it was moving upriver). It was on a mission and just kept swimming.

See them all the time in the river along the Potomac Heritage trail

I do know what a carp is. Looked longer, darker and skinnier. But, sure.

Nice! I like that you were able to find them even with all the activity around you. I need to start making my transition to deeper running lures this time of year it seems. The two osprey of course are in their home and should keep an eye on people (because most suck). But, that person going between you and the shoreline is just inconsiderate.
I'm taking a break from it all right now. I've had very little success in the last 3-4 outings and that includes a trip that was chartered! I'm going to enjoy these cooler days and am hoping for one day where the wind isn't blowing so hard so I can enjoy time on the boat driving around.
