Shore 6/27/24

Planned to get out early after the rain.  Hoping it might give the river a bump or at least get the fish active.  On my second cast with the little popper, i felt some weight/resistance and set the hook.  Never even saw the slurp, but fish on.  Good one.  I got it in and it was a dandy.  I tried to weigh it, but it thrashed and the scale fell from the branch I had it wedged onto.  Weight was bouncing around 3.8-3.9 pounds before it fell.  I felt bad and decided to get the fish in the water and try a quick pic.  Fish was strong and picture did not come out great.  I would say the fish was a good 19 inches if not longer.  Looks like blind in one eye.  Revived her for a minute and she swam away.

I tried some different lures, but only landed one dink on a weightless yum dinger.  Picked up a bunch of trash and was off the water by 7:15am.  Nice morning.

River was less than a foot when you caught that ugly (but big) fish. Nice one!

The good rain missed us for the most part. Maybe we got some upstream.

Time to go fishin' again!

The shore is out about 20 more feet than the last time I was out.  Fish would be better looking without all the mud on it from flopping on the shore.  Looks old though.

Fish looks rough.  Hope that's not a sign of coming events ....
