6/17/24 Shore

With the water being so low, I opted to hit the shore for a couple hours this morning.  Figured I might not get out for a while.  Got on the water a little after 5:00am.  Tried the popper for a while, but no takers.  There were fish moving in and feeding.  I finally decided to switch to the z-man trick shotz on a light wobble head.  It got bit on the first cast.  Nice chunky smallie.

No weights or measurements this time.  I wanted to keep on them.  Fish were between 14-18" and hefty.  Fish #2-5.

That last one was short, but heavy.  I hooked and lost a nice one when it jumped.  A guy was moving upriver in a kayak and I caught like 3 when he was nearby.  I did not see him catch any.  My line was getting frayed, so rather than re-tie, I grabbed my rod with a flatworm tied on.  I caught another.

I got maybe one more bite, but no fish.  Tried the popper again before leaving a little after 7am.  I looked at the times on the pictures and all fish caught between 5:34 and 6:00am.

Talk about being productive!  You really had them dialed in and I'm guessing you got back for breakfast! lol
