Got out early again for a short outing. 3 ladies with inflatable paddle boards were there before me. Wanted to see sunrise. On the water by 5:11am.
Plan was to use topwater, Nessie and wakebait only. That did not pan out as it started slow. I finally got 2 little ones on the popper after a while.

Then, I moved upstream and decided to try the storm sub wart. It got slammed!

I missed one more and then it slowed down. I tied on a little ned I had in the boat and got one and missed a better one.
Then, when that got torn up, I put a flatwom on the jighead.
It got really slow and I was floating back. I was throwing different stuff from time to time. I threw the sub wart again and got hit.

A while later I got one little fish on the flatworm. Then I tried the sub wart again I got slammed hard. This one, like the first one felt like a catfish. It was fighting hard, pulled drag and stayed down until the end. I finally got it in the net. It was a beauty and heavy. I should have weighted it, but I wanted to get it back in the water.

I tried for a little while, but it was slow and I decided to head in. I got off the water by 10:15am. Caught 7 or 8 total.

I took multiple pics of the bigger fish (net and board). Just 2 big fish.

Awesome. You are on fire. I always giggle a little when I see some people on the inflatable paddle boards. At least at the lake I do because the folks on them are usually the type that have no balance.
That last fish is as wide/tall as long! Really nice!
