LCSO and LCFR searching Beaverdam reservoir area

There were reports by fishermen and others hearing someone yelling for help.  They been looking for the past half hour and haven't found anything.  Trails have been checked and boats from Leesburg and Ashburn are on the water.

And with that, I recently joined the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company and over the next year I will be training to get my Firefighter I and II and EMT certifications.

I got EMT1 and EMT2 certificates years ago in CA.  Never used them to work but the training has come in handy numerous times.

This reminded me that I got lots of firefighting training (flight deck) while in the Navy ('72-'76). On several occasions (when I was younger) I ran towards the fire as I knew what to do. That kind of training never leaves you.

It's always a great feeling to serve.  There is no better reward imho.

Nobody was actually missing.  The Fairfax helicopter even looked around some.

I start initial training next week.  I'll likely be riding on the tiller truck in the Leesburg July 4 parade.
