Rigging My Commander 140

The first thing I did was lexel the foam blocks in better.

I then applied the night stripe, which is a reflective strip that runs the length of the yak.

I then put the scotty mounts in for the rod holders.

I then put another scotty in for the visipole.

I bought the straight shaft visipole and attached it to a scotty.

Re: Rigging My Commander 140

I then worked on the anchor trolley, which I was able to attach to my slide trax system.  I sewed and then shrink wrapped all of the connections together, as it provides for the best connection.

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm266/redskinsfan360/014-4.jpg

I tied parachute cord to an anchor and added a float to use.  You an also see that I tied the parachute cord to the bottom of the anchor and then ziptied it to the top so that I can pop the ziptie in case of it getting stuck, it will make for an easy release.    I also attached some rope to a clamp so that I can clamp to trees and position myself with the trolley so that I can hold position that way.

I attached my Lowrance Elite 5 to a ram mount, on a ram screwball so that I can position it many different ways depending if I am sitting in the captains seat, the paddling seat, or standing.

I have it attached to a deer camera battery that is in a waterproof box.

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm266/redskinsfan360/007-7.jpg

I made the connection with connectors so that I can separate the battery from the depthfinder.

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm266/redskinsfan360/008-8.jpg

I ran all the wires up out of the way and stored the excess out of the way using these clamp clips so I can take it apart easily.

The transducer is attached to a micro liberator, which I still need to cover in electrical tape I just wanted to test it first.  It allows for me to raise it up out of the water when needed.

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm266/redskinsfan360/005-8.jpg

I put silent traction system in the front and back to dampen the noise.

I then put some logos of good companies on.  Missle Baits and Gamma who sponsor our club.  As well as ARC, KBF, YakAttack, and Hook1 who are just good companies that I support.

Here you can also see the zig zag cleats that I put in for the trolley and tying off.

Here is an alright picture of the whole thing.

I still need to put more silent traction where I stand, keep the battery and anchor in the front, and where I keep my crate mate.  I also still need to secure my battery box.

Wow. I am completely impressed by your creativity and handiness. You should open up a kayak customization service and call it "Pimp my 'Yak"

Where are you headed?

I will have the boat out there with an out of town friend that needs to catch a few fish!

I do not know where yet.  I plan on hitting a few spots while I am home, because I will be back in Ashburn tonight through the 13th, so let me know where you go...
