Cedar report, 6-9-09

Tonight, I fished for an hour or so before the storm....we were lucky tonight, that storm was intense north and south of us.

I started where the two girls caught the 6 nice bass on Sunday evening. The bait was a bigger wacky than normal with a 2/0 circle hook.

I had three takes and runs but did not land them. Maybe the bait was too big? So I switched to a brush hog type bait, nose hooked and I got a take and run but no luck getting him in.

Problem solved....the 2/0 circle hook is simply too big (thick). But I was too far from home (behind my neighbor's house) so I stayed with it.....I just needed to add a bit more pressure on the retrieve.

Then I got three hit and takes and landed everyone of them. All of them were 1 pound punks but feisty! They took three different baits; the fat wacky, the red beavertail and a watermelon red brush hog.

For the next outing (maybe Saturday), i will use a 1/0 oe #1 circle hook.

Bigjeffie was out there too, I hope he caught a few!

Time to go fishin' again!
