My uncle wants to me to go out with him on his boat (bayliner bowfront, not really a fishing boat) and I'm looking for suggestions of where to go for easy bites. I will be with my little cousins (I think they're 3 and 5) so I'd like to keep them entertained. My uncle suggested Point Lookout but that's a little far for me. I also know NOTHING about saltwater fishing and have always either fished from shore or had a charter. Any suggestions on places where a 3-5yrs old (and me) can get a consistent bite?
I was thinking about the potomac and giving the blues a try.

When is the outing?

He suggested Sunday if the weather cooperates. I'm scared He wants me to launch and fish first and he'll come by later with the family.

This Sunday? There are no blues in the river or bay.
You shouldn't launch by yourself the 1st time....get a buddy.
White perch can be had in several areas, that is your best bet for Potomac River fish right now unless you go waaaaay down river where the stripers are.

I like the sound of perch. I'm looking for a buddy to go with me right now, so anyone freee sunday and willing to tolerate my uncle (he can be very irritating). I know better than to launch on my own, even though that's what it feels like when I go out with my uncle (he just stands there and watches me).
I was thinking perch and blue cats were the best bet.

Hard to go wrong there. The herring and shad might be in also.
