Last smallie of 2023

Sunday afternoon took a spur of the moment solo outing in the kayak to try and end 2024 with a nice smaller or two.  Went to a known winter area to give it a shot.  Paddled upstream through the shallower water to get to the big hole.  Spent about 1.5 hours there with only 1 hit on a tube.  Might have been a good one for the brief second I felt something but will never know.

Started floating back down through the shallow area and gave a half hearted toss in an adjacent deeper area with less current and had a bite on the stand up plastic lure.  Swung back around, anchored up and tossed in the small creature bait and landed a 14".  When I got close to the vehicle, saw a little deeper area where the foam bubbles were moving slowly.  Made a few casts and got a 13" there.

Did get another to bite the tail of my plastic after that. So ended up 2-4 on the afternoon.  I will take that with cold water.
