We will hold the next Broad Run HS Fishing Club Tourney on Sunday, Oct. 29 starting at 12:30pm and ending at 5pm with a hot dog cookout plus prizes.
As in the past, we will have a HS and a non HS division.
It will be held at my house, out back as always.
Volunteers welcome!

What a great day it was! The rain moved out about an hour before the tourney.
Some of the HS kids had a regatta in Philly and could not make it. Still 6 of them showed up along with 11 non HS kids. That's a new record.
1st place in the HS division went to Caleb Holtz
Here are the standings for the Kids Division:
1. Grant Morgan, 13 fish
2. Miles Morgan, 6 fish
3. Jack Willee, 5 fish
To say that the kids had a blast would be an understatement! Oh...some of the adults had fun too!

And here are the pics!
See this guy (below)?
He used to spend time at my house 22-23 years ago when he was in HS with my eldest! How cool is that??
Below is one of the 2 carp caught today!!
And the other carp!!
These kids took home a HUGE haul!

Oh...the hot dogs were good too!

BTW, the 1st carp (huge) ate a small white curly tail on a jig, under a bobber. The 2nd carp ate a worm on a hook, under a bobber.

They did! And the cool thing was that two of the dads are good friends with my oldest.

I always blame it on the full moon!

Donations for the stuff we give to the kids at every tourney comes from many places. Lots of friends have donated many items. I also scour local auctions and get stuff that way. Recently, Curly brought 3 tackle boxes full of stuff over. It was from a neighbor of his down at Lake Anna.
I cleaned up the boxes (the 3 on the left in the picture below)...
...and I cleaned up all of the lures as well.
One of the kids got a Hula Popper that was one of the pieces in the boxes. He was exited when he got it . He said, "Oh cool! A Hula Popper!. He's in 6th grade and he knows a good lure when he sees one.
That's why I take any and all things that are donated. Once cleaned up and new hooks are put on...it makes someone's day!

The Treble Hook Preservation Society (THBS) should park a dumpster in your driveway.
