Buddy had his aortic heart valve replaced too. They took out his pulmonary heart valve and inverted it for the aorta. This was about 10 years ago and he's doing farm work now.
You'll be out there catching fish soon

We had lunch yesterday. He looks good. Doc asked him if he gets tired going up steps. Nope. Doc is perplexed but says valve has down its job, time for a new one.
Time to go fishin' again!
