Got out this morning in the fog. Stayed up on my end of the lake only a half mile from my dock. Found some fish swirling right away in 8 feet of water. Put the Kastmaster spoon out to them and WHAM. Had a freight train on and taking drag for what seemed like forever. Got it to the boat eventually and netted.....24.5 inch citation hybrid. Really fat one.
Continued looking for fish and found them again.............and it was on. Put three more keeper stripers (22-24 inches) in the boat and I was done.
This shows how much thicker and wider a hybrid is, compared to stripers about the same length. Easily twice the weight.
Ellen came down to the dock to take a pic of me when I got back to the dock.
Sure is nice to have the fish near my house this time of year!

Fantastic! Hope they can keep up the breeding to stay ahead of your catching.

Those stripers look like minnows compared to the hybrid.

The breeding is done elsewhere…no hanky panky with fresh water stripers. Hybirids are stripers cross bred with white bass.
