I was supposed to fish on Wednesday with Bob and today with George.
But man, it got really cold in the mornings this week. Happened way too fast for me.
Luckily, I spent Wednesday with my grand kids.
George and I had 3 choices today:
1. UP- but John's comment about it being 32df at 8a made me say no way Jose.
2. Pickerel on the Severn- Most of the reports that I had been getting were lackluster until I heard from Bob late afternoon yesterday. He picked off 7 pickles after he splashed his boat after breakfast...10:45a.
3. Kielbasa Factory in Rockville MD.
Well, the choice was clear. We would drive up to Polish land at lunch time to get some lunch and stock up on some authentic Polish provisions.
They now know who the "Cubano" is!
George and I stocked up on some pastries and many of their offerings (I know he got some head cheese among other delicacies.)
Then we had some amazing kielbasa sammies with the best mustard (Polish) I've ever had.
I liked that mustard so much that I bought 3 bottles!
Nice afternoon out...

After eating that sandwich, I had to go back for a second round. Mustard was so good, I got one jar. Cracked up when I saw Ernie with three jars.
Turns out my small "piece" of kielbasa was almost 2#. Also got head cheese, polish meatloaf, and some pastries and pierogi stuffed with cheese for the wife.
Ernie and I found some canned cod liver. Yummm. LOL

Good to see at least you got some meats and eats. Next week should have some warmer days. I will be fishing in WV on the New.
32 at take off is a little ahead of time. As long as it reaches near 50 degrees I am ok. I now have a rain suit appropriate for colder weather. Have not really given it a full try yet, but fishing has to be promising for that much effort.

Wife & I went hiking today. She wanted to pack a lunch for a picnic afterwards
Head cheese, dark rye bread, slathered with polish mustard on both sides of the bread. I should have gotten another bottle or two

Excellent expedition and pictures! lol

Yesterday I toasted some bread lightly, then added some of their lunch meat to the sandwich and heated it up in the toaster over.
Heating up their lunch meat is magic. All the fat that holds the meat together turned into a gelatinous delectable treat
