After watching some Cats and Carp videos on YouTube, I decided to take a can of sweet corn and headed to a little pond in Sterling to pursue my favorite winter fish. It was cold and windy and I was hunkered down. All the people walking their dogs thought i was crazy lol.
Had two rods out and threw one handful of corn out for some chum. Sat there for about an hour and a half and was about to pack up since my nose was running like Forrest Gump. As i turned around packing up the first rod, the alarm on the second rod started screaming and it was on!! After what felt like an eternity of back and forth, this beauty broke the surface. She was beautiful!!
It's surprising how fast you warm up when you have a fish on the line. I know alot of people don't consider carp sportfish but i love em, especially in the winter when very few other fish are biting

Way to go! You caught a hard fighting fish in the freezing cold. Not many do that around here.

That thing is a beast! Nice fish! How big was it? Nice to see a carp report on here. Hoping for more winter reports!
