I wanted to get out and fish the UP since I had not been on it during the last 4 months. Fishing has been way off as we all know.
John jumped at the chance when he saw my open seat post so off we went.
We were on the water shortly after 10:30a...
..and it was beautiful. And...it was NOT cold. Very pleasant.
Anyway, we hit some deep holes, worked some rocks, fished the mouth of Goose and I do not believe that we had a bite all day.
However, since John is only 2 months out from shoulder repair surgery, he was ecstatic being out. As was I!
Every time a rock or limb would touch our lures, we would whoop it up!
The only negative was that even though we saw only 1 boat out on the water, this "gentleman" came down below us (@ 100yds) and proceeded to fish where we were floating to. It's a big river ya know!
Anyway, I told John that if he did it again, my Cuban temper was going to be unleashed. John said, "I'll join you"!
Anyway, it was great to be out but still sad that our river is so barren of fish.
Shad season is only 3.5 months away!!

Great to be out on the river and the SS Rojas is in great sailing shape! Huge Hawk and 2 Eagles spotted. Maybe one fish surface spotted. Water color was perfect. My shoulder is coming along, but no right handed rods yet. Thanks for the day out, Ernie!

Great view, it's still a nice gift to have a nice day like this in December. Ready for 14" of snow Wednesday???

Water was glass four hours earlier. I knew you'd have a picture perfect day but thought the herons being out would at least give you a bite?

Not sure we saw one...
We did see some ducks and the other birds that John mentioned. And a kingfisher or 3.
