The quest for big perch continues!
I got to the ramp at Sandy Point around 7:15a but Bob was already at his honey hole as he got there at 6:30a.
I launched the yak easily enough and peddled my way to Bob. It's about a mile but you are in the bay. Winds were light but there were plenty of boat wakes.
I joined him for a bit and then I decided to go into the cove.
Good move. Here, I caught a ton of perch but nothing over 10". Then, I got slammed and there it was, a 13"...
...puppy drum! Wong species but quite a tug on the UL tackle.
I then rejoined Bob who had caught a couple of nice perch!
The top one was 12 1/8" and the bottom one 11 1/4" yet they look so different!
I did manage to catch a skinny 11"er that will help my totals for the tourney. I also had two cutoffs, no clue what got me. I also broke off 2 lures and dropped one overboard. Expensive day!
We called it around noon time.
On the way home, you could see the Rt. 50 Bay Bridge backup for miles...and miles! Man, I would hate to live in that part of the world at this time of year...

Congrats on the nice fish! I heard there was a pedestrian on the bridge. Not sure what happened.

Possible jumper. They negotiated with him for 20 hours and they talked him out of it.
