Nice day today...
After my 17 mile bike ride (was nice to get on the road but only the 2nd outdoor ride this year), I tried out back, using a 4wt.
I was minding my own business when I felt a sting on the top of my foot. Didn't see the culprit (suspect an ant) but it left a nice welt!
Lots of folks fishing but no one catching...including a lonely cormorant who finally gave up and went on to greener pastures.
I then moved over to the back of my neighbors house and got a tug...but very little fight!
Got this guy in!
On a home made fly...
...which I proceeded to lose on the next cast! As well as another one on the cast after.
I then dropped another home made fly in the brush and as I looked for it, this guy appeared!
Didn't find the fly. I tied 3 last flies night and lost all 3!
Cedar is still a bit murky.
Oh...no more bites in the hour I was out.

Lots of nature going on there. Glad you got some pullage, however small it may have been.

No clue, didn’t ask. I moved along.

JC- you are right, all pullage is a plus. What I didn’t say is that I had snagged some rubbish earlier. Gave me a trill for a nano second. This crappie behaved like that at hookup. He did try to resist once he realized what just happened.

Only thing I’ve seen lately are poacher on the lakes. Few families with small kids catching dinner I guess?
