So yesterday we fished the mouth of the Potomac...about 135 river miles from where we fished today.
John and I met up at noon and fished until 4:15p or so. We needed to try to figure out where fish hide when the water temps are in the low 40's. We found some today, we know where you hide!
River was just shy of 6'...I have never fished it that high but the water color was perfect. Just a little fast....
1st fish was John's...a very pale 16"er caught on a jig.
But John was exited (as was I)!
I scored a near 12"er on a tube.
Then John got a 15.75"er on a jig again.
After 3-4 missed fish (had one to the boat), I finally scored a decent one!
Time was running out on us so we wen back to the honey hole and on his 1st cast with his bran new rod, John hit a 13"er! All the fish were colorless.
We basically found them in 2 places and both had eddys, bubbles and then a drop off (faster water).
Tomorrow, we will explore a few more places but we will hit where we know they hang.
Good afternoon out with some cold bonus fish to boot!
