Minus1, rattletrap, j&p
Been getting some Curly class middleweights.
Just fall fat as can be. 2 to 4# fish on best days.
Most of the good ones end up being muskie type ambushes at short range.
I have pics I will text to anyone that cares to attach to post.

The one where you can see my boots was like Ashburn that was the minus one.
You're asking about the yo-yo ....yes I work a yoyo into the rattletrap retrieve when I'm able to according to the retrieve angle and what else is going on.
The fish in the last photo I caught on the rattletrap yo-yo.
I burn the bait all the way back up to the bank ripping it you know on the last Rip i overpowered it just a touch it -skipped out of the water exactly like a fleeing minnow -when it's went back into the water was when I got the strike -right in front of me.
I wrasseled that 1

Nice fish! Maybe I've been retrieving my rattletraps too slow all this time...hmmm...

I keep feeling around for the rattletrap retrieve of the day.
Get a bite, get a clue, sometimes start wacking them.
Sometimes they dont want it.
But when a true rattletrap bite happens, it's a great day

Usually the clearer the water, the more I cook it. I think pond bass get drawn in. You burning that thing, it going by, they start watching.
I multiple cast often. I think they get seduced, then react when u tick a twig or some vegetation

After seeing this thread........went out with a rattle trap yesterday on one of our ponds. Completely struck out after 50 minutes of various retrieves

They were on the trap a bit today. I didn't fish myself to death.
Maybe a couple 14" were best. Couple mighty max 8inch types.
Water very clear, not my "big fish" pond either.
But a half dozen or better is a good day.
My arm can only take so much fishing after a days work
