Canada

Just got back from the great North - Ey?

We were in Quebec

Had 9 days of the most epic smallie, pike, and walleye fishing I've ever experienced

50+ pix of 18s, 19s, and 20s smallies. 16 inchers fought stronger than any 20 inchers down here

The smallies I caught up there were mean - thumbs are bloody and have numerous jabs from their spines. Finally had to start taping up my fingers. Never seen smallies with teeth like these. And the shoulders on those fish were insane. Finally had to start grabbing them w/ lip grippers. Also got walleye - biggest was 26" and a 40+ inch pike.

Four times the bite turned on so hard, had a fish w/ every other cast - one time it lasted over an hour. During these times, didn't even have time to pull out the camera because we were both so busy catching, netting and releasing fish.  One time it lasted 4 hours - man o man o man

Fishing was unreal and sur-real

Bugs were a beatch - skeets were on roids and got welts from the horse flys. Will take me at least a weak to heal.

Woke up one morning to 41dF, but water was still around 65dF and fish were on

Drove over the local Potomac on the way home and it was muddy

I'm really not ready to fish this weekend

Will start posting pix as time permits

Well ....

Not sure if this is a wife trip.  She may hate you after the trip.

Unless you're wife's from the jungle (my buddy found his wife in the jungles of Cambodia and brought her to the US - she's one of the toughest outdoor women I've ever met)

She has to luv being eaten my mosquitos and getting welts from the horse flies along with getting bloody hands from the fish's teeth & spines.  I'm still healing

Re: Canada

Biggest fish was a pike over 40" - not sure how much, damn thing bit a hole in the net

Next were two 'eyes about 24" and 26"

Biggest smallie was 20" - but we had so many 18's and 19's it was crazy.  16" fish up there with shoulders kicked azz on any 20" small down here

And they had teeth.  Towards the end of the trip had to tape up the hands and Leon started using the lip gripper on every fish.  Not only did I have bass thumb but they would bite then start flipping back & forth slicing the back of the thumb.  I was bleeding on the back of both thumbs.

It happened!

Sure did LoL

Magic bait for me was flukes.  For Leon, magic stix and jack's worms.  Caught fish on cranks, jerk baits, senkos, flukes, swim baits, and a variety of Case plastics
