I went out today, after leaving work early because I knew I had plenty of work to do at home (taking a little break as we speak to type this up). I wanted to chase the monsters of Beech and so I headed down there to convince them that today is a good day to bite my lure. Not only did I see the fish from yesterday, but as I walked the lake, I saw another 3-4 fish that were in the 2+ range and a few more that were slightly smaller. They are moving up and scanning the shorelines for their fall gorging, but I am just not catching them at the right time of day I guess. I ended up with two small bass and a yearning to catch the big ones.

I'm guessing those hawgs are not gator fans.
I'm going to try using large minnows this weekend to catch one of those guys. I think Curly landed a six pounder out of Beech last fall, about the same time this year. I'm thinking there are probably bigger ones in Beech somewhere..

Curly witnessed me hooking my wife on Sunday! I was throwing a woolly bugger with my 5 wt and she crossed behind me. Good thing she was wearing a heavy sweatshirt!!
She was mowing the lawn...I was fishing....

The key is just having wives who allow us to fish. Getting them to perform the "male" tasks of the household is another story....your skills are epic Ernie!
