From Jay's Wintry Mix- Very complicated and Major storm coming. Let me describe the 12z NAM run to give you an idea although this is still in Flux. 1st wave appears to start as Rain but then quickly change to mix of snow/sleet by 7am Tuesday. As that is happening, the NAM is dropping the surface temp to below 32 during the day tomorrow but keeping it a lot warmer -hence the mixed precip. By Afternoon, it turns it to light snow and wave 2 starts to get going(picture 2). By 7am on Wednesday, wave 2 is the primary storm of the coast. Snow is falling in the area..temps below freezing and yes it will stick. By 7pm Wednesday, its over. Showing nearly 1.5 to 2 inches of liquid. So that's a pretty major storm per the 12z NAM. Lets see what the others say but I think Loudoun gets 6 plus from this. There will be double digit snow amounts West of Town especially in elevated areas. This is the Bill Wolfe storm basically. Lets see what other models show today but the NAM trended colder today.

Now, Wunderground is calling for 5-8" on Tuesday and 3-5" on Wednesday. And still no days in the 60s (only 1 in the 50s) in the near term (10 days)!
Kudos to John Durbin for starting this nonsense.
Let's use this thread for your guesses. Deadline is noon tomorrow (20th).
Dulles airport is official reading.
