Anyone on here do it?
I just bought my first set up and looking for buddies to go with and/or advice for this area.

Jeff English does...but not sure if he's looking in since he moved to TN.

yeah! I shot him an email but wanted to see if others here were into it as well.

looking for advice as to flies for mountain streams and other remote bodies of water.

My go to fly was a prince. You just can not go wrong with a prince.

Ok I had to look up Tenkara. Kinda neat. Seems like the Japanese are really good at refining age-old techniques.
My experience with stream fishing this time of year is that the trout aren't especially picky...but I'm far from an expert on that kind of fishing. That prince fly looks like a killer.

I didn't know what this style of fishing was until I youtubed it. I've been using this technique for a long time, but with the traditional rods and flies. I'll have to see about getting a setup like this, it is effective!

I haven't been but my buddy just uses standard dry fly (elk hair caddis etc.) or soft hackle wet fly setup.
