Went fishing on the New River yesterday looking for smallies and maybe a musky. As soon as we got there my buddy hooked up on a jerkbait and said it was a good fish. When it broke the surface he realized it was a musky and it shook the hook. So for the next 30 mins I threw my musky equipment in that area without a bite. I switched over to a tube for smallmouth and on my second cast got nailed. It wasn't fighting like a smallmouth so I was confused. Then it came up and it was a musky! I got it on shore, snapped a few photos, and released it. no measurement but my guess is it was about 25"-30". My goal for the 4 years at tech was to get a musky and I finally did! Needless to say I was super stoked.
