Tyler & Greg wanted to catch some basses in the creeks so we obliged them.....
Tyler scored 1st (but of course)....
...and 2nd!
And 3rd!
That's it! No more pics for him (even though he caught 8-9 nice fish)!
We basically had the last of the low tide (8:00a) but we had current.
Greg finally scored a couple of nice ones....
Things started to slow (Tyler was not catching) but I finally took my skunk off.
Not big but well fed!
We saw an eagle, some deer and a couple of snakeheads but they did not bite for us. \And we ran in to Charlie on the Carol Lynn!
As we were moving out, Tyler hooked up and I threw in right behind him for this nice double!
Close to 4 we think....
We tried a few other places that have been frequented by others on here but we found no love so we called it a day.
As we were leaving, there was some helicopter activity as well as police activity. Seems that there was a car chase, a crash and then the perpetrators jumped in the river t elude police. From what we could tell, they were unsuccessful.
Back home to rest an on to the Nats game!

As always a great day out with Ernie and Tyler. We actually saw a ton of nice, big, healthy bass cruising the weedline. Seeing isn't catching though. I started out with a spinnerbait, but no love. Threw a frog for a while. Really fun to throw, a few half hearted strikes, but no takers. Tyler was working a weightless soft plastic jerk bait all day. That is truly his confidence/goto lure. We all ended up with a version of that by the end of the day.
Working that current in the creek with the trolling motor took most of Ernie's time. So he didn't get as much "lines wet" time as Tyler and I. He finally got a few, AND did a great job as Captain of the Ship (HMS Ernesto). I, on the other hand, don't have that excuse and was simply outfished by Tyler. It doesn't matter. I love watching my son work his magic, and doing it in such a beautiful place out with Ernie makes it just about perfect.
Went to the Nats game with Ernie, his son Jon, our wives, and Jon's girlfriend later that day. The Nats crushed the Brewers and we had a most excellent time. Spend about 17 hours with Ernie yesterday....I don't think I need to see him for another 3-4 weeks! HA Just kidding! Love spending time with Ernie.

That gave me a good laugh before my Sunday bike ride!
