7-3-14, Eastern Bay

The bay is in trouble.....I know that most know that but there are very few fish to be had. The days of breaking fish are slim to none. If you want to catch a keeper, you need to liveline. Nothing wrong with that but it is not for me.

Had we listened to the weatherman, we would have canceled as they were calling for strong winds. They came later (nooish) but <15mph! Gary's 24' Everglades is the best boat out there for the bay chop. Never did we get rattled.

We started off at the tip of Tilghman....notin'!

We did a LOT of lookin'!

And finally John scored!

It took a while before I scored!

We never found breaking fish...only some flippin' bunker.

We found a few schools but they were small and would not take a fly. Gary even threw the trusty stingsilver and got nary a bite.

But we did see this remarkable 24' Duck hunting boat....

....was thinking of Jeff English!

Always great to be on the water but we have a sad state of affairs on our hands.

My summer game plan is changing.....

Jeff...that boat is 24' long and extremely wide. It will have its own duck blind!

Seems that the striper stocks are in bad shape up and down the coast. It is very troubling sad

One of my wife's-friends-husband guides and has a similar rig. It really is impressive...
