Hey I do not feel like going to Occoquan and little huntington creek is too muddy to launch. Any other places along the potomac that you would say are kayak friendly on the va side? (as in lots of fishing within a few miles, for example leesylvania isnt the best option) Thanks guys!

I'm most likely going to Jones Pt Park on Saturday to fish for catfish at the bridge.

Mason Neck state park. Launch in Belmont bay, take a right and head toward Kanes creek back in the corner. Fish shoreline wood, marsh banks and pads slowly during high tide, and then pull out to the pad edges and grassy creek channel edges and fish moving baits as the water falls. Pay attention to where the channel bends and current crashes into cover - this is where the fish tend to gang up actively and feed. The magic usually happens when the water is moving. Recommend using stout tackle and be weary of large snakeheads that often loiter in the area.

I'm thinking of going somewhere tomorrow morning but not sure where yet. Was thinking point of rocks but not sure if this rain brought the Potomac up too much.

Learn the river by checking the guages on the USGS website.

After the rain this week , POR would be muddy but safe. Bit pushy at that level.
For a more throughal analysis, check what's comming down river from guages up river.
