Occoquan 5/24

Went to Occoquan for a rough day of fishing.  I have some friends who fish the Potomac religiously so got a lil input from them.  They said to stay out of occoquan, as it has not been producing and to hit belmont bay and some surrounding areas.  So my plan was to get to the mouth of occoquan and then fish those lily pads then make our way to some spots in belmont bay.  WELLL I hit an underwater log I think it was before could even get up on plane and broke off the prop blades.  So the day was to be spent in occoquan now since all I had was the trolling motor.  Fished it for 8 hours and it was tough.  I caught a catfish on a chatterbait.  I also saw to fish hit my chatterbait near the boat but only got the trailer (trailer hooks are being purchased).  Decided to call it quits and between the two of us and only caught that catfish.  I did see one other person pull in  a bass and someone else said they had a snakehead.  There was a lot of boat traffic including cabin cruisers, lots of fisherman and the Fairfax County Police Department boat.   Gonna go back for revenge as soon as the new prop blades and trailer hooks come in.
