Good news and bad news..... first the bad
Punxutawny Phil, the stupid PA groundhog saw his shadow this morning and predicted 6 more weeks of winter.
The good news?
His accuracy rate is the same as Topper's.... 39% so maybe there isn't any bad news

Groundhog is very good eating. You start with the trinity , carrots , onions, celery and cook in some bacon grease till translucent. Add 2 cups beef bouillon and ground hog cut into quarters. Add whole small potatoes. 1/2 cup red wine. And for spice I like a bit of file' and a few bay leaves. Then after a two hour simmer covered up,, pick the bones out.
Serve over homemade biscuits.

Thanks for sharing
I think that recipe would work with any critter. I will have to start watching the road sides more careful.

My father n law told me how an ole timer cooked up a groundhog for him 30-40 years ago and how good it was. He was never able to reproduce the same product. I've killed many groundhogs, but have never tried eating one....guess we're gonna have to give it a go now with this new recipe!

It's 2:25 in Forestville and just seeing the first flakes. Next we need to dodge tyomorrow night's freezing rain.

Nothing but rain down my way.
Heard some buzz about another possible storm this weekend. I love snow, but I want it during the week!

I missed this, but I Always say zero-so mine counts anyway, and I was right

Yeaaaa! The same could happen with the freezing rain tonight. With a low of 30, that is VERY close to the line of freezing. Either way, it should melt pretty early in the day tomorrow.

ZERO??? Then why did my wife and I spend 1.5 hours shoveling the driveway? And if it was empty, then why were the shovels so heavy to lift? Guess it was just a bit colder up here on the backside of Catoctin Mountain such that we got snow instead of rain. Guess we're just lucky.
