Went to the big lake Saturday morning in my kayak. The water was extremely dirty (couldn't see below a few inches) and the sides were very overgrown and stagnant. I caught nothing... the water definitely made me think I wasn't going to have much luck shortly after I arrived. I think this heat has really done a number on that lake.

reconsider grasshopper...the water can only be as fertile as the angler's eye perceives it to be, That particular body can be most recalcitrant, but i assure you great beings inhabit her depths.

i have fished in there for years. even tho i know differently, there are still times when it feels like a big empty puddle.
if you persevere, when the time is right -success will be yours.
i think it is the best big fish water in the village.
