Personal Best Crappie

Caught my personal best Crappie today at Roaches Run!!!!  I used my 10 1/2 - size show for reference about 13 inches and this guy was a little bigger. I think it was close to 14 inches (almost a VA trophy fish). It blows away my previous one of about 10 inches. I know plenty of you guys have caught bigger but for some reason this was very exciting for me. I can see why they are called slabs.

I'd also like to thank you guys for all the input and feedback. Between this forum and the TPFR I have learned so much. As someone that has fished for over 20 years you (I) tend think you (I) know it all. I was floored when I moved here from New York. I though that the fishing here was terrible and finally came to grip with the fact that I needed to change up and try new  techniques. There are a lot of other forums out there where people tend to talk down to you for asking questions and rarely want to share information.
Thanks for sharing - especially since I never met any of you.

Here are the pics:

Nice fish. Which Sellus rod do you have there? What do you think of it?

"Fish," he said softly, aloud, "I’ll stay with you until I am dead."

Re: Personal Best Crappie

thanks guys...bigfoot, it is the sellud six and a half travel rod. it is pretty good and the most expensive rod I have ever owned. I got it at the richmond fishing expo. it was the only decent rod they had that was a two piece. I need that because almost all my fishing is on my way to work and at lunch nd needed a two piece to fit in my hyundai. every vendor there thought I was crazy looking for a two piece.
it is very sensitive but one issue is the rubber piece that keeps the top of the rod from moving broke off after a couple of weeks, so now after a hook set or heavy casting I have to readjust. the other thing is that with my shimano sedona that has 30lb braid on it, when ireel in it is really loud. it is fine with anything lighter.
