Potomac Striper non-report 5-13-11

Visibility was about 8" and muddy.  Even thought the gauge was at 4.1 feet, current was very swift.  We caught no herring in 3 hours, and neither did anyone else.  Caught two blue cats on cut spot.  Thai and I gave up on stripers around 9am and went bass fishing in Colombia lagoon for an hour or so......it was not too clear either.  Picked off 3 bass combined.

Worst Potomac fishing spring in my 19 years here.......................

Ugh...Tyler and I were thinking of going to Fletchers on Sunday morning.  All I can hope is that they will be awfully hungry since you didn't feed them anything.  This will be our first time.

Yeah, 1996 flood was in Janurary and had receeded enough by the spring in the lower Potomac.  Upper river was a different story and the smallies were never the same again.
